Shane is the owner of Woonona Eyecare and one of our experienced optical dispensers. He started his optical career with OPSM Wollongong in 1985 and then travelled throughout NSW as an OPSM relief manager.

 

In 1990, Shane purchased Woonona Optical and Hearing, which later became Woonona Economy Specs, followed by Woonona Eyecare. Despite the business name and location changes, what hasn’t changed is Shane’s commitment to the community of Woonona. He has seen patients come in as children and then return with their own children. Giving back to this community is at the forefront of why Shane continues to serve Woonona.

 

Over his career, Shane has developed a deep understanding of the technical side of optical dispensing, particularly the dispensing of multifocal lenses. He is committed to finding everyone stylish eyewear they love and lens designs that meet their lifestyle.

 

Being an avid sports fan, but not particularly good at any of them, Shane has a great appreciation for the visual requirements of various sports especially cycling and motorcycling. Shane has also completed many specialty projects for customers, including prescription safety glasses, swimming goggles and dive masks and lenses for hobby shooters.

 

Shane has recently completed a degree in Psychology with a focus on the cognitive and visual needs of children, complementing our focus on children’s vision.
